Junior Project Engineer (m/f/d) Nuclear Services

The impact you can make with us:

  • You will become familiar with our comprehensive range of services – from setting up complex decontamination systems and executing dismantling and decontamination (D&D) projects to developing shielding solutions and supporting overhauls of operating nuclear facilities.
  • You will support the planning and coordination of D&D projects as well as clearance and disposal procedures in nuclear facilities.
  • You will prepare technical concepts, support approval procedures, plan material flows, and implement packaging or disposal strategies.
  • You will be responsible for scheduling, cost tracking, and progress documentation.
  • You will participate in on-site inspections and technical meetings within nuclear facilities.
  • Over time, you will specialise in an area of your choice – such as residue treatment technology, radiation protection, repository documentation, D&D planning, or maintenance and construction of customised shielding solutions.
  • You will actively contribute to communication with authorities, partners, and internal project teams.
  • You will ensure compliance with legal requirements and technical standards, such as the Atomic Energy Act (AtG) and the Radiation Protection Act (StrlSchG).

Your profile:

  • You have a completed technical degree in civil engineering, power engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a comparable field of study.
  • You bring an interest in topics such as nuclear D&D, waste management, disposal, or radiation protection.
  • You are eager to familiarise yourself with legal frameworks such as the Atomic Energy Act (AtG), the Radiation Protection Act (StrlSchG), the Radiation Protection Ordinance (StrlSchV), repository approvals, and other regulatory requirements.
  • You work in a structured manner, show initiative, and are distinguished by your analytical thinking and ability to engage with complex subjects.
  • You are proficient in using standard MS Office programs.
  • You are flexible and willing to travel.
  • Ideally, you hold a valid driving licence.
  • Excellent German skills (at least C1 level) complete your profile; good English and French skills are an advantage.
