Project Engineer (m/f/d) Nuclear Dismantling and Decontamination (D&D)

The impact you can make with us:

  • You plan D&D and decommissioning measures in nuclear facilities and implement them both technically and organisationally.
  • You develop D&D concepts independently by selecting suitable dismantling and decontamination procedures, for example for pipelines, ventilation and filter systems or other components of the nuclear facility.
  • In close consultation with radiation protection specialists, you evaluate planned work with regard to radiation protection aspects for safe and efficient dismantling and decontamination and simulate this in 3D plans, e.g. using Inventor or SolidWorks, and transfer it to virtual reality (VR).
  • You carry out activity and dose assessments and perform clearance evaluations, for example for the classification of residues and the planning of their treatment or disposal.
  • You check and create technical documents such as flowcharts, isometrics or parts lists.
  • You ensure a smooth flow of information between planning, execution, radiation protection, disposal and the responsible authorities.
  • Using standard IT tools, you keep track of deadlines, costs and resources and steer your project towards success in a targeted manner.

Your profile:

  • You have a degree in power engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, physics or a comparable field.
  • Ideally, you have experience in nuclear D&D and waste disposal as well as in dealing with customers.
  • You are confident in applying legal frameworks such as the Atomic Energy Act (AtG), Radiation Protection Act (StrlSchG), Radiation Protection Ordinance (StrlSchV), final disposal approvals and regulatory requirements.
  • You are known for your strong analytical skills, a high degree of initiative and your independent and structured way of working.
  • You are very familiar with common IT (MS Office programs).
  • You are flexible and willing to travel.
  • Ideally, you have a valid driving licence.
  • Very good German language skills (at least C1 level) round off your profile; good English and French skills are an advantage.
